Paul's Grains rye field, July 2006

We hope you come back again!

Soy Burgers
These patties are very good, and do not taste strongly of soy. They are exceptionally filling, and work good in place of meat in sandwiches.

1 c. cooked soybeans,1 coarsely chopped
1 c. cooked long or short grain brown rice
1/2 c. grated cheese
1 c. toasted sunflower seeds, ground
1/3 c. Paul's Grains Whole Wheat Flour
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. basil
1 tsp. salt

Mix all ingredients. Shape into patties and cook on a griddle or in a skillet until well done. You can also bake patties in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. To keep them from sticking, sprinkle griddle or baking dish with sesame seeds.

Makes 8 patties.

1 To cook soybeans, soak under water overnight, then cook as you would any other dried bean until soft.
